Tips, Tricks and Tools To Help You Sing!

With a voice lessons, on average, how much higher can I sing?

I’m a 16 year old male, and I would say my vocal range is around average, it isnt high but it isnt low. I’m starting vocal lessons soon and just want to know how much higher, with the proper training, my vocal range will become?

Difficult to predict. There are no guarantees in singing, but your voice will improve and your range will extend upward some with a good teacher and careful practice on your part. It is difficult to say too much because at your age, your voice may still be settling from the voice change. You may be end up being a baritone or a tenor, but may not reach your full vocal range until you are past college age. So there are a lot of variables in predicting what will happen. It is possible for H.S. age male singers to add as many as 4 or 5 half steps, or more to the upper range and possibly some on the lower end. Follow the advice of your teacher. Always remember that improvement in singing takes time and patience, but is well worth the investment. Good luck.
