Tips, Tricks and Tools To Help You Sing!

what will taking voice lessons do for me?

i have really good pitch/intonation, it’s just that i can’t really project. i’m very soft.
would taking voice lessons help me sing the right way so i don’t damage my vocal chords and i can sing louder?
how do people learn to sing very edgily like dana fuchs or the singer from atomic blonde?

YES – I have been taken voice lessons for a number of years and that is exactly what voice instructors help you with. Voice instructors will most likely introduce you to various warm ups for your voice, provide you with songs that fit your voice well, and help you expand your range, projection abilities, flexability, and vocal chord strength. Most importantly, a voice teacher will make sure you do not damage your vocal chords with overexertion or improper techniques. For instance, you will probably not be belting in your first few lessons. Singers in bands such as those either have incredible natural talent, or (and this is what I would guess), have been taught how to use their voice properly so as to sound great and keep their vocal chords healthy.
People cannot learn how to sing like those singers – those singers were born with their voices and were simply trained how to use them. You >can< learn how to properly and successfully sing their music. My friend and I can both sing the same song, but we’ll sound different. I might have better tone and she may be a better belter. You should look for songs that fit your voice. Voice lessons provide a safe environment to do just that.

Good luck!
