I have to agree. Only a qualified voice teacher can listen to you and hear if you’re doing everything correctly. I’ve been teaching for over twenty years and just when I think nobody can possibly misunderstand what I’m saying, someone finds a new way to interpret my instructions. If I were not there to immediately stop and correct them, they could do their vocal cords permanent damage.
Most reputable teachers have full or partial scholarships or both, and some have work-study programs as well if finances are an issue.
