If I have vocal training from a school, and train with a recommended Singing Success CD, is it still considered formal vocal training?
I’d train with a voice teacher in person, but there aren’t any in my area, sadly.
It's vocal training from a qualified teacher. It's not formal training if you just use a CD, as there is no one to make sure you are using proper technique.
Still, the CD is better than nothing. Just make sure to record yourself so that you know you are improving. DO NOT try to do something the CD tells you not to do yet (e.g. belting before they say you should) , as that might damage your voice.
