I had really awful grades my first 3 years of high school because of an illness. I then transferred senior year to an online school (its accredited) and I have a 4.0 from this new school so far. When I apply, my GPA from the two schools combined will probably be between a 2.1 and a 2.5 depending on when the application deadline is.
-I haven’t taken my ACT yet but on my practice test I got a 25 composite (33 English, 25 Science, 24 Reading, 18 Math).
-My essay is already finished and I think it’s really really good. It talks about why my grades were so horrible before and how the challenge has made me stronger.
-Extracurriculars include:
Tennis
Waterski team
Vocal jazz
Retail work
Secretary
Voice & piano lessons
Church mission trip
Participated in solo ensemble competitions
-Also took honors and AP classes
So, what colleges do you think would accept me? I don’t want to go to a community college. Also, the larger the student body, the better. Thanks!
It depends on where you want to live, financial state, and what you plan to pursue. It seems you have a good essay and extracurricular activities which would make up for your low gpa. Just apply to at least 5 schools or more to be safe. Also, there is nothing wrong with community college. Many people complete their two years then transfer.
