Free Online Violin Lessons

If you are looking for free online violin lessons it shouldn’t take you long to find some fantastic resources. With the explosion of learning online there are endless possibilities to learn, enjoy and master pretty much any subject you can think of including the violin.

If yo u wish you can hunt around the Internet to find some lessons and a teacher that will suit your style and personality. However, if you look for lessons that come from the teachings of someone famous or well-known in the violin world then you won’t be able to go wrong.

The lessons would probably be delivered in an e-mail format and will include tips, techniques and maybe a few downloadable products for you to get your teeth stuck into and add another string to your bow! Sorry I couldn’t resist!

What’s great about these online lessons?

Well first and foremost they are free.

You can take the lesson anytime you like, even if it’s 2 AM

You can repeat the lesson as many times as you like

Some people collect all the e-mails and create their own intense learning course

But my favourite benefit of all is that you are learning a fantastic musical instrument from the comfort of your own home.

Hopefully you can find some great free online violin lessons that perhaps are linked to a website or blog that has loads of information and resources for you to use. Personally I love e-mail teachings that eventually lead on to a full programme from a professional violinist. This adds great continuity for the student and provides good targets to work towards.

Learn How to Sing a Song

How Beginners Can Sing a Song Like a Professional

People of all ages have wanted to sing a song like a professional they’ve seen or heard especially if it’s their favorite singer.

Even natural born singers have to get vocal training at some point in their life so they don’t wear out or damage their vocal chords altogether by using them incorrectly. If you are willing to put in the work and patience that it takes as a beginner, then singing will eventually feel natural to you also.

Getting Voice Coaching and Instruction

If you can afford a teacher for private lessons or can join some singing classes, this will be very beneficial to you in the long run. Only choose a teacher who specializes in the genre of music you want to sing or who has a variety musical background.

Most of them will usually start you singing the note scale of do, re, mi, la, fa, so, la, te to get you used to doing shifts in your tone. You may get tired of doing the same thing over and over again but singing the notes can help train your throat also.

Establish Your Vocal Range

An instructor should be able to tell you if you are an alto, tenor or soprano so you will know how high or low you need to sing a song. They will also show you how to breathe correctly so you sing from your diaphragm rather than through your nose.

Learn to Sing in Front of an Audience

Prepare yourself tosing a song in front of an audience so you get a feel for how professionals perform in the limelight.

The good thing about singing camps, classes or an instructor is that they may have you perform in front of an audience to showcase your talents and to overcome any stage fright that many beginners have. They also may pair you with other students if any who can give you some tips that work for them or to make you feel more comfortable singing.

Secrets of Professional Singers

There are tips that can help you sing a song better and that many professionals use. Singing or breathing slowly and deeply in a shower can open up your lungs more.

Also drinking water in between breaks or hot tea with honey will help the throat while soothing any strain from singing long hours. So you see, with the right training you can be singing professionally in no time.

Practice and Determination

But remember, none of these singing tips work unless you do! Get started and keep at it if you expect to make progress.

Learn to Sing Better: Tips on Better Breathing

Breathing studies have found that you can actually have peak health and a longer life, depending on how well you learn to breathe! Sounds silly, doesn’t it? But it is true as you will see below. Breathing properly is really healthy for you overall, as well as developing your ability to sing better!

Breathing properly for singing is the single most important factor in obtaining good solid technique in order to sing better. Every singing sound we make, at least, is dependent on consistent and steady airflow. If you have more control of this air flow, you will have more singing control and thereby have better quality of your singing, including strength, duration, and capacity.

Breathing for better singing should always include relaxation techniques for quiet inhalations, specifically. Exercises and stretches, include some yawning, yes you heard right, yawning exercises, as you inhale and exhale, to help relax the muscles surrounding the vocal cords.

First, stand relaxed yet tall and with good posture. For more information on this, go to www.breathing.com. They have some excellent details on breathing and posture.

Since breathing is a three-dimensional process, try this. Breathe in deeply to connect with the diaphragm (muscle that lies underneath the lung sacs, as the lungs are not muscles). Your rib cage should expand and you should have a sense of “expanding” clear around the rib/abdominal area, as the diaphragm lowers, thus, filling the lungs. Exhale completely.

Do the above for 4 counts in and 4 counts out….all the while thinking of not only the three-dimensional expansion, but the silent intake of air, using that “yawning” sensation, which is only a helper for this training…yawning may not work perfect for other vocal techniques, like voice placement, but it does help relax the muscles for a quieter, quicker intake of air. Push out with the belly muscles as you sing or do your vocal exercises. You can even lie on the floor for this one with a book or a couple books on your belly to see how your breathing is doing. Can you raise the book while inhaling? If so, that is just one aspect of the three-dimensional aspect of proper breathing. This is just to demonstrate how you should be breathing. A coach online or offline should assist you in keeping track of these, to make sure you are developing proper habits. Poor habits are so hard to change, so give yourself some time, training, and practice. Do the above everyday (except the book part) for better control of your breathing and forming proper breathing habits.

There are, of course, things you should not do while learning the above techniques, and that is you should not move your shoulders, head, or neck while learning these habits. Your chin should not go out or up or down to low, but be level. To breathe properly, specifically for singing, you will want to keep “the instrument” in the appropriate position. You should appear natural and the breathing should seem effortless.

There are also exercises that will assist you in developing better breathing control and stamina without hurting your singing voice. This includes exercises like breathing in through a pretend straw for better breath control and development. Try this. Pretend you are breathing in through a straw (a small pressure hole created by your lips) and perform the above 4-count breathing exercise. This will help strengthen your breathing strength, control, and stamina for those long “tah-dah” notes or just sustained notes that always seem to fall short. There are also many breathing exercises for assisting in developing breath control, strength, and stamina, such as inhaling (yawn) your breath, then “ha-ha-ha-ha-ha” exhaled for 5 times and seeing if you have any breath left, which you should.

Learning to sing better through breathing is such a critical step in developing your better singing voice. I just cannot stress that enough. I do hope these tips have assisted you in obtaining some breathing techniques to take with you for your overall healthier lifestyle and in singing better! Let’s march onward to assisting you in continuing your onward progress in taking care of your voice, breathing, and coming soon…warm-ups!

Singing is a talent that many has made a lot of people famous and popular, and because there are now many professional singers, the challenge of becoming a good singer and the best singer is also getting tough. It is not just about simply singing but also finding ways on how to learn to sing well every now and then.

If you are in the quest for ways on how to learn to sing well, here are some tips you might find useful.

- Listen to your singing voice. Listening to your voice while singing maybe different than listening to your recorded voice. If you want to improve your singing, try listening to your own recorded voice and find out where you can improve a bit or what pitch or tones you would like to improve. You have to determine your vocal range as well. Imitating popular singers may be good but if you are constantly singing beyond your vocal range, you may end up damaging your voice. Although you can increase your range, you have to do it gradually.

- Understand that singing is not just about your singing voice. Good singers have techniques, in fact, some of the popular ones have distinct singing techniques that distinguish them and make them shine above other singers. Understand that to learn to sing well, you have to make use not just your voice, but your body – your diaphragm, your torso, your abdomen, your neck and many other parts of the body. You have to use them to produce the best singing voice you can and the best singing performance as well.

- Mind your posture. These two play a big role in making a good singing sound as well. A bad posture during singing is not only unpleasant to look at but can also affect the quality of your voice. Of course, a correct posture allows the a good flow of your voice from your vocal chords and out of your system.

- Relax your facial muscles. Tension is often a hindrance to a good, well modulate voice, so try to relax the muscles of your face as well as your neck and jaw before trying to sing. This will help you feel more relaxed and will make you look more confident as well.

- Learn proper breathing. Breathing is an important factor in singing and if you want to learn to sing well, you have to focus first on learning to control your breathing while singing. This is very important in helping you reach high notes without effort or increasing the range of your singing voice.

- Keep your body hydrated. Drink plenty of water each day if you want to sing better. This will help clean your throat and makes your voice relaxed as well.

If you are determined to learn to sing well, get yourself a good tutor. This will help you learn the correct way of singing right from the start. It is crucial that you learn the proper way of singing to avoid bad habits that may later be difficult to correct.

Music is considered as the greatest joys in life. This is mostly people think about music. It is an art whose medium is sound and expression in the way of life. It affects the cultures of people.
To >learn how to sing classical music involves hard work, patience, repertoire of skills, and commitment. Beginners and even professionals have to develop their voices through systematic and careful practice of vocal exercises and songs.

A common approach in learning to sing classical is by hiring a professional to teach you this genre, joining classical choir groups, enrolling in music school, or to purchase singing software that is made for classical music. Either way you decide, classical singing has to be pursued with strong determination and passion. To know what is involved in classical singing training, here are some points to remember.

One of the striking features of classical singing is the disciplined posture of the singers. In general, good posture in singing ultimately improves overall health by improving blood circulation. On the other hand, the importance of good posture to singing lies in preventing stress of the muscles of the body to sustain the whole performance with enthusiasm, energy and power.

Here are the components of good singing posture. Have your feet slightly apart, keep your legs straight, but make sure that your knees are unlocked, have your hips facing straight forward, your abdomen flat, spine aligned, shoulders down and back, and your head facing straight forward.

Next, a good thing about warm up exercises include extending your vocal range, lining up the voice vertically and horizontally, acquiring vocal techniques, control dynamics, singing wide intervals, thrills, and correcting vocal faults. Start to master your breathe support. There are three stages in breathing: breathing in period, breathing out period, and recovery period. A good singing instructor can teach you these elements of breathing.

Classical singers have to set goals of vocal development by learning to sing to their natural limits of vocal range without distracting changes of quality. It can be achieved if the vocal instruments involved in singing like breath support, laryngeal action, resonance adjustment, and even articulatory movement are properly coordinated.

To give you an example exercise, you may try these healthy techniques to be practiced regularly about articulatory movement of using your mouth and shape the sounds.

Try to soften your voice and whisper to give it a breathy feel. Then, practice a cats ‘meow’ as well as a ‘growl’ sound.

Experiment with the mouth shapes, tongue placement, and lowering and raising the larynx when singing a phrase.

Try to project the voice outwards and forwards and visualize the note as it reaches the back of the room.

REMINDER: This exercise places importance on how you sound during the exercise and not the tune you used on this exercise.

In classical singing, when it comes to expression, the deep emotion of the song has to be translated into your voice. This is where learning the foreign language becomes a challenge for classical singers in order to sing the song in which the expression makes it real and alive for the listeners.

Either you would enter a foreign language school, keep a dictionary for your reference or learn the language on your own, what’s important is how you understand what you have been singing and are able to relate the message to your large audience.

To have emotion in singing, you can practice speaking the lyrics out loud as if you are talking to your friend, if it is a love song, read it to your loved one. You can appear natural on stage with your emotions if you can effectively relate to the song and sing it from the bottom of your heart.

Have you ever heard the line, “How do I learn to sing?” This is a common question asked by people around the world who wants to learn to sing. There are a lot of misconceptions about whether or not you can learn to sing. First we’ll talk about some of the obstacles and things you can do to improve your singing ability.

Just like anything in life, natural talent helps. If you are born with the natural talent of singing then everything will follow smoothly. All you have to do is work hard and practice more to become the best singer that you can be. So if you are asking how to learn to sing, it is a practical and reasonable question that we can find solution with.

One obstacle to learning to sing is the concept of trying to imitate others. If you are trying hard to imitate other singers, will just probably end up being frustrated and won’t become a great singer. For you to learn faster in singing it is important to have your own style, do not imitate other singer. Having your own style in singing is a big advantage and people will identify you. So, if you are practicing by singing other singer’s songs, you should sing them with your own natural tone. This is a common mistake people make when learning to sing.

How do you start leaning to sing?

First, you may start answering the question, “how do i learn to sing by controlling my larynx?” Larynx is the piece of cartilage located at the back of your throat that closes every time you swallow. This piece of cartilage also houses your vocal cords. When we sing, we want as much air as possible flowing in and out our system so we can relax our throat and practice keeping it wide open when singing. You can actually feel it if you pay attention to it. If you are not conscious, your larynx will close and tighten when you are singing. Be careful because this causes strain to your voice and ends up hurting you vocal cords. This relaxation technique is very important when answering the question, how do i learn sing?

Another thing is the pitch. For some singers it is hard for them to recognize pitch in the beginning, meaning if they are still learning. But it is something that you can learn with constant practice. Years ago i was always amazed with the idea how singers could recognize pitch so easily and stay in key every time they sing. Pitch as defined in music is the “degree of height or depth of a tone or of a sound, depending upon the rapidity of the vibrations by which it is produced, it is also the particular tonal standard with which given tones may be compared in respect to their relative level.”

In order for you to learn to sing faster and with better quality, all you have to do is take the tips i mentioned earlier and practice every time you get a chance to improve your singing ability.

One would think that singing in a group is simpler than singing solo, simply because it would be easier to blend in. And probably certain small errors you make may be covered up by other singers. However, if this is what you think, you are mistaken. Singing harmony, which by definition implies singing in a group, requires much more effort than a solo performance. This is because the entire singing process depends on every singer in the group, and not just a few singers. This means, you require more effort while trying to blend in with the rest of the singers, to understand the different notes that make up a melody, and to ultimately sing in harmony. Putting in some time and effort into the process, will tell you how to sing harmony in a manner that is easy to master.

How to Sing Harmony the Natural Way

When you wish to learn how to sing harmony the natural way, there are certain singing tips and tricks you can apply. Do remember, that harmony singing is always a group effort, but it does require some individual effort on your part. Also, remember to be patient while trying to learn. Here, we bring to you some tips that will help you master this beautiful art.

Tip #1
Pick out a song of your choice, along with which you can practice singing harmony. Master all parts of the song, not just a part that you would prefer to sing. Ensure that you can sing the melody on pitch. This technique needs to be first mastered, before you attempt to sing harmony perfectly. You may try out some singing exercises for this purpose.

Tip #2
One of the best ways to learn how to sing harmony is to sing while playing on a musical instrument, such as a piano. This will help you hear the notes that you are singing. While practicing with any of the various musical instruments, sing on the same scale as the melody you are playing.

Tip #3
To learn how to sing harmony by ear, you will have to train your ear to identify dissonance and resonance within the piece of music. Avoid dissonant sounds, if you are not a very experienced singer. Follow this simple exercise to train your ear to learn harmony singing. You will require a recording device for this one. Start the device, and sit at a piano. Press just any note on the piano. Hold on to it, and try to sing a note that is in harmony with the note that you have played on the piano. You will not master it at the first attempt. Continue this exercise with different notes, for at least fifteen minutes. Then, rewind this entire recorded piece, and play it. You will understand the effect of the note you picked to sing in harmony with, the pitch you were singing in, and the types of moods that you have created while attempting different notes and harmonies. Do this exercise regularly, and your ear will be trained to recognize the nuances of singing harmony.

Tip #4
Lately, a lot of CDs are available, that give you instructions on how to sing harmony by ear. You can invest in one of these, and try learning. Lots of people have found these CDs very helpful in their attempt to learn to sing harmony.

Tip #5
As mentioned earlier, singing harmony is a group effort. This means that when you are learning how to sing harmony, you must not only practice your own part, but the parts of the other singers in the group. This will help you pick up your notes in a simpler manner.

Tip #6
Singing in a group will also ensure that you are on the same scale as the rest of the singers. This means, you will not overshadow other singers, neither will you stand out in the entire singing effort. Keep in mind that, melody is of prime importance, and should be heard over and above all other notes. Try to gather in a circular fashion when you practice in a group, so that you are able to hear other singers as well.

Tip #7
Lastly, you could sign up for some singing lessons with a music teacher, who would help you understand the basics of the process of singing harmony. Singing lessons will also help you train your ear to identify the different notes required to sing harmony.

Learning how to sing harmony is an art that you cannot master overnight. It is definitely going to require a lot of time, effort, patience and self-motivation, on your part, to be able to sing harmony well. If you wish, you can try practicing with your local church choir so that you have a group with which you can learn the nitty-gritties of this wonderful method of singing.
