What style are you taking? Classical, Jazz, Rock/Pop or other for your vocal lessons?
Also, please tell me if you are satisfied with your selections and why.
I'm doing classical. And it's not a waste of time. Most people start off doing classical style because it's the basics of singing correctly and healthily. You learn the proper set of singing techniques. Then after you're able to secure it, you can sing whatever you want in a way that won't make you damage your vocal cords.
