Tips, Tricks and Tools To Help You Sing!

Is there hope for me to learn how to sing well?

I am a 14 year old girl and music is my life. I am shy and I don't know if i sing well or not. I don't know how to hit notes just right. If I got singing lessons, is there hope?

You CAN sing. Trust me, I know. I've been a vocal coach for 20 years. I've had many many many students come to me thinking they couldn't sing at all – and I made them sing.

So yes, a good teacher can help you progress very quickly and could be the solution for your problem. But as you know, vocal coaches can be pretty expensive. There are some other solutions – you might look into the site I provided in the source box – but in general, if you really want to sing properly, it's going to cost you money.

However if you just want to sing as a hobby, and if you don't want a singing career, there's a few things you can do without spending a penny. If your problem is 'shyness' there's a great solution I can give you – just follow these steps for a start:

1) Choose a song you really, really love.
2) Play it and turn up the volume. Play it really loud!
3) Now just sing along. If you turned it up enough, you won't be able to hear your own voice. Don't worry about whether you're hitting the right notes! Just unleash your voice and enjoy the feeling that you have singing along.

Now, this doesn't make you a great singer just yet, but it is an extremely effective technique for losing your shyness and hesitation. You can then take it from there with some singing lessons or with buying a singing course.
