I would really like to learn to sing but can't afford voice lessons so I'm trying to teach myself. Can someone tell me how to sing from the diaphragm? If my throat hurts after I sing, does that mean I'm not singing from the diaphragm?
Indeed, you are straining your throat too much if it hurts (also a sing from NOT activating the breath support from the diaphragm), so in the long run there is a big risk that your voice is in danger! So, if you don't want to jeopardise your voice and probably your upcoming singing career/hobby, please wise up and start taking those lessons! Only THEN you will know WHAT you are doing and HOW. Singing should NEVER hurt anywhere in your body!
