bass hunter has turrets syndrome but im just wondering how he preforms without cursing and stuff like other people with the disease do?
tourettes doesn’t mean uncontroble swearing. It’s a type of neurological disorder that gives a person tics. A tic is a sudden movement or sound that a person has no control over. Well, it’s not no control. a person with tourettes can’t hold in a tic any better than you can hold back a cough or not scratch an itch.
As for swearing, only 5-10% of all tourette’s suffers swear because of it. although it’s the most commonly known tic because the media seems to think it’s funny that there’s a disorder out there that can make a person swear. But the people that do have this horrible tic, think it’s anything but funny. They hate to yell out those words and find it very embarrassing.
Here’s a list of common tics that people get:

If you want to find out more about this disorder (not disease) go here:

And here’s a link you can go to which pretty much tells you everything about tourette’s (and you don’t even have to read):

So you asked why he doesn’t tic on stage? Like i said, you can hold in a tic and also some things that people with tourette do they don’t tic. I know a girl that when she takes pictures (and she’s a very good photrographer) she doesn’t tic. For me, for some reason when I act (I love to be in plays) I don’t tic that much. Maybe singing is the one thing that he can do where he doesn’t tic.
Also tourettes only gets better over time. I have no idea who this guy is but I’m guessing he’s over the age of thirteen. Tourettes is at it’s worse around preteen/ early teenager age and from then on it gets better. It’s hardly even noticable in adults.
