I am 17, trying to get ahead start on my music career. i want people to hear me, hear my music, and i was wondering how to i get a license to sing on the street? do i even need a license? and how much does it cost? i live in Alberta.

Every municipality has their own local ordinances regarding "busking" (playing music / performing on the street for tips).
Some towns and cities will allow you to busk freely. Others will require you to get a license, and/or restrict you to busking only in specific areas, or prohibit you from performing in certain areas. Still others will not allow any busking anywhere.
If you attempt to busk without a license, or in a city where busking is prohibited, you could be issued a summons and fined.
Contact City Hall in the town or city you want to perform in, and find out what the local requirements are and how to go about getting a license if you need one.
