i see people sing harmony without even knowing the song and harmony makes a song sound so much better. How do you learn it?
I'm a little confused…but that's probably my fault.
Anyway, you can never sing two notes by yourself at the same time. But to me it sounds like you're saying people join into a song singing different lines even when they don't know the song…
Okay, so being a chorister for all of my life, I have simply grown accustomed to hearing lots of patterns of harmony. The simplest and easiest kind of harmony to sing with a song is parallel thirds. (This next part will be much easier if you own a piano). Third – 4 half steps. So it would be like C to E, F to A, Bflat to D, ect. I'm really sorry but I don't know how to explain it extremely well, but there are lots of structures for harmonys I believe.
