I am a half decent singer. I have been listening to bands like At The Drive-In and Against Me! and I have been trying to play the songs but I’m having trouble singing them. They’re singing style is very aggressive and intense and I would love to know how to do that. Any suggestions?
To put it simply, try to project more. A lot of the aggression comes from sheer volume, so making your voice louder by projecting will help a lot.
After you get that down, you can start adding some more by making your voice raspier. It takes a while to get this down, but once you get it, it comes pretty naturally when you want it to.
