I am young. I want a career in singing. I love to sing. I always have. I’ve wanted to be a professional singer since I was in first grade (the year I first joined choir). The only problem I have is that I don’t know how I get started….
Well of course I know how to sing I just don’t know who or where to go to to be discovered.
Get a Shur SM57, cables and interface to your computer. Get some cheap recording software and put up some sound diffusion around a room or closet, away from computer fans or any noisy devices or ambiance.
Lay down some tracks with some of your best pieces, ten or so.
Edit down the pieces into a mix or demo.
Get an agent.
Keep building your portfolio and adding to it. Keep record and copy of anything you create. Put mp3 quality (middle to low quality) demos of your material on a website and keep updating it.
Go to auditions and keep getting heard.
