I have been comparing peoples comments on Rock music singers and most would say Rock singers dont take any singing lessons. But I've heard that most famous Rock singers have taken lessons. So, I put the focus on Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, who sings and screams, and sounds pretty nice on both sides. I wanted to know if he has ever taken a vocal listens before he started his band, or if he ever did take any kind of lessons, class, or training.
He took vocal lessons after joining, I believe.
I heard on a radio interview (I don't know which one anymore, it was a long time ago) with Mike Shinoda explaining how Chester kinda jumped into singing and at the time of the interview was just beginning to get coaching. Someone, either Mike or the radio guy mentioned the possibility of it making Chester a bit self conscious about himself and messing it up, but after all theses years he still sounds great.
Chester himself doesn't pride on the way he takes care of his voice, "I do everything you probably shouldn't do." He basically just uses tea.
