How do you sing screamo?

7

I need to learn to scream for a band im in. Any tips on how to do it? Thanks

Don’t.
That’s not even good music, deathmetal can be good at times but really, if you’re going to try to be the next Oliver Sykes then just stop right now. That music is horrible and I say that from the heart. If you’re wanting to become big or something great than I suggest doing something like Chiodos, at least we can understand at all times what they’re saying. But as for the rest of ’screamo’ bands, they are extremely horrible. And also if you don’t know how to do it, I suggest not even trying. That sounded bad but if you don’t have much experience with how to do it, don’t. You can obviously try but it will eventually sound bad in the end.
On a positive note, practice, practice, practice.

How to improve the diction when singing highest notes? (like A6, B6, C7, D7, etc)?

1

Persistence. You have to master the vowels before the consonants. Don’t push them out, because you will either go sharp, flat, or damage your voice badly. Tongue-twisters and diction exercises will improve your singing speech overall. What helps me is knowing the soft consonants and the hard consonants, to distinguish which ones that should be emphasized.

soft:

F
H
L
P
R
S
T
W

hard:

B
D
G
J
K
M
N
V
Z

Of course, the hard consonants should be heard more than the soft ones. I just recently competed in UIL Choir. In one of our songs, we had to sing "round". One of the most difficult things to do, as a soprano, was dentalizing the "D"…it was a high note. And with "K"…if it’s not clear, the whole word is swallowed. You almost have to add a vowel on another beat to get the sound out. "duh", "kuh", etc.
Don’t close it up after you’ve sung a high consonant. Open it up again immediately; this does wonders for the "S" and "T". These are the most delicate consonants.

Anyone here knows how to rip specific Karaoke songs from a DVD video disc?

7

Well, my mum like bought this Karaoke DVD that she’d like to sing along with. It has like 200 karaoke songs on the that one disc and out of that 200 karaoke songs she’s heard, only 6 of them she likes! The question here is, how exactly do I rip these 6 specific Karaoke songs from a DVD video disc?

At first I thought it must be a piece of cake, because I thought the songs are like in wav file formats or mp3 formats. But when I checked the DVD, it was all like in these vob and bup and those IFO file formats! I can’t just copy them onto HDD and burn them onto a CD so my mum can listen to them! (There’s probably 20 songs or more in each one of those vob, ifo and bup files! and don’t know which of them contains the songs my mum likes!) Those are DVD movie/video files! How do I convert those into the specific karaoke songs my mum likes? is there some sort of software that I might be like DVDFab but probably called CDFAB! that converts DVDs into CDs….?

I recommend you Pavtube DVD Ripperr.
Pavtube DVD Ripper is professional DVD Ripper soaftware to rip dvd to videos. It is practical without failing to perform in an outstanding way. It is versatile application and users can use it either to backup DVD to hard disk or to convert DVD movies to AVI, WMV, MPG, MP4, MOV, and 3GP, AAC, MP3, W4A, WMA, WAV and AC3 etc. In addition, it can convert DVD to iPod, iPhone, Zune, Creative Zen, iRiver, PSP, Xbox360, Pocket PC and Apple TV etc. Pavtube DVD Ripper rips fast and exports excellence only.

how and where to audition for tv shows on disney channel or nickalodean or abc family??

1

disney channel acting career….how to cast or audition for disney and/or nickalodean…..i love acting and modeling and singing……………….i makes me feel ……….happy i guess..i’ve tried everywhere but can’t find anthing……

You NEED an agent to get auditions for Disney Channel, Nick, and ABC Family! Any site or person who promises such auditions is a SCAM! ONLY agents have access to such auditions.

Here’s the cliffsnotes version of what you can do to do to get into acting and eventually get an agent:

1.EDUCATE YOURSELF FIRST!

READ (check Samuel French, libraries, and bookstores):

*=If you’re on a budget

Acting business:
*Acting is Everything: Gold Edition-Judy Kerr
*How to Be a Working Actor-Mari Lyn Henry and Lynne Rogers
*Self Management for Actors-Bonnie Gillespie

-One Less Bitter Actor: The Actor’s Survival Guide-Markus Flanagan
-So You Want to Be in Showbusiness?- Steve R. Stevens
-Acting Truths and Lies (purchased at www.info4actors.com)

Acting:
*Book the Job-Doug Warhit
*Intent to Live-Larry Moss
-Acting for the Camera-Tony Barr
-Acting in Film-Michael Caine
-Acting Class: Take a Seat-Milton Katselas

Method Acting:
*Art of Acting-Stella Adler
*Sanford Meisner on Acting-Sanford Meisner
*A Dream of Passion-Lee Strasberg
-Actor’s Art and Craft-William Esper
-The Power of the Actor-Ivanna Chubbuck
-No Acting Please-Eric Morris
-Respect for Acting-Uta Hagen
-Challenge to the Actor-Uta Hagen
-You Can Act!-D.W. Brown
-Strasberg’s Method-Lorrie Hull

Comedy
-8 Characters of Comedy-Scott Sedita
-The Sitcom Career Book-Mary Lou Belli

Improv
-Anything by Viola Spolin
-Steve Book on Acting: Improv

Auditioning/Cold Reading:
*How to Get the Part Without Falling Apart-Margie Haber
*Audition-Michael Shurtleff
-Secrets to Successful Cold Readings-Glenn Alterman

2.GET TRAINING!

Regardless of how "talented" you might be, you NEED training, PERIOD!

Definitely take classes in:
-Cold Reading/Auditioning
-Improv
-Scene study
-Commercials

3. Get GREAT headshots

Here’s is a good place to start:

4. Build Your Resume and Reel Doing Student films and Indie Films. Also do plays to build your acting experience.

Sample Resume:

The ONLY LEGIT Online sites that you can find jobs on your own through:
ALL SITES NOT LISTED BELOW ARE QUESTIONABLE!

-ActorsAccess.com
-LACasting.com
-Nowcasting.com
-NYCasting.com
-NYCastings.com
-Backstage.com

Free but proceed with caution:
-Castingcallsearch.com
-Mandy.com
-Craigslist

5. Get an Agent

Look up LEGIT agencies here:
http://www.agentassociation.com/

http://www.sag.org/content/find-agent

To get an agent, you need to get GREAT headshots, a good resume, and training from the best. These are enough to get you a commercial agent at least. Getting a GOOD theatrical agent (Film/tv) takes longer. Most good theatrical agents won’t see you unless you’re SAG, have a polished resume, and a demo reel. Commercial agents are more lenient about that. What the best Commercial agents want to see on your resume are good commercial classes, improv, and cold reading.

You can get an agent multiple ways. Here are a few common ways:
-Mail in an unsealed manilla envelope with a CONCISE coverletter and headshot with the resume stapled on the back. If you have a demoreel include that too.
-Attend a showcase and impress them. By showcase I do not mean scammy conventions like IMTA, IPOP, Proscout, or Best New Talent. I mean legit ones like at Actor Connection, Reel pros, Network Studios, etc.
-Get a referral from a friend who is with the agency that you’re interested in

DON’T
-Email them unless they tell you to. IT’S UNPROFESSIONAL!
-Call unless they tell you to. ALSO UNPROFESSIONAL!
-Walk in and ask for a meeting. UNPROFESSIONAL THREE!
-Sign with them if they ask for upfront money, make you take new photos with THEIR photographer, or take THEIR classes. Agent’s ONLY make money when you do. Agents usually make 10% on film/tv and commercials and 20% on commercial print.

The Best Horse Racing Events

5

No matter what sort of horse racing fan you are, you probably have a list of horse races that you consider to be the best out there. We agree with that and our favorite top three horseraces in the United States have to be the Belmont State, Preakness, and the Kentucky Derby. We wait weeks and months for these races and follow betting odds, jockey careers, and can’t wait for the visit to the track or the television show to entice us even more.

Why did we pick these three when there are so many? Because it is our list, not yours and we want to talk about them, where they are, the smell of the track, and the history behind these three events. First off, these three events make up the Triple Crown series and are run in this order:
• Kentucky Derby – Held the first Saturday in May
• Preakness – Run two weeks later
• Belmont Stakes – Runs three weeks later

Why do we enjoy the Triple Crown so much when we could, as horse wagers, make more money on perhaps other races? Because they’re cool, celebrities attend them—heck, even Queen Elizabeth II came to the Kentucky Derby—those are races we like to talk about!

First, what’s up with the Kentucky Derby? Well, beyond those taste bud tempting Mint Juleps we all sip or perhaps consume too many of, this Grade One race is for our favorite three year-old thoroughbreds and held each year in Louisville, Kentucky after the fun and exciting two week event of the Derby Festival. This event-filled race is one and a quarter miles at the spectacular Churchill Downs and has the old nickname, “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports!” If you haven’t heard that term, what about “The Run For The Roses?” Sure, we know you’ve heard one of those terms. The thoroughbreds that run this race aim to beat the 1973 record of 1:59 2/5 set by Secretariat in 1973. Or, maybe as fans, they want to see which jockey will beat out the most winning jockeys—Eddie Arcaro and Bill Hartack—both won this race six times. Anyway, we love this race and dream of sitting with the wealthy ladies with hats, have a few Mint Julep’s, and maybe sop up some great Burgoo Stew—a heck of a time.

We also love the Preakness—even the name is cool. The last three years have brought us horse names like Big Brown, Curlin, and Bernardini; all of these super horses won this race. Also a Grade One race for three-year old thoroughbreds held in Baltimore, Maryland at the Pimlico Race Course, this race has been called “The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans.” We cheer here watching those horses run this 1-3/16 mile race and can’t wait for that old black-eyed Susan to be hung around the winner’s neck. Mostly, we like betting on this race and being forced to sing Maryland, My Maryland, even if we’re not from there.

The Belmont Stakes, another amazing betting opportunity, oops, we mean horse race, is also a Grade One race and is held at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York and is the final leg of the Triple Crown—not to be confused with Crown Royal. This 1.5-mile race is also for those thoroughbreds we crave watching and what about all those Carnations? Well, they do call this race “The Run For The Carnations,” so maybe those horses do like those flowers draped all over them, probably much more than the thorny roses at the Kentucky Derby. Here we all get to sing the theme from “New York, New York,” even if we don’t know the words. Most of us remember that Billy Shoemaker won this race five times and still love him, even if Eddie Arcaro has won it six times. We like it even more that Secretariat’s time of 2:24 has never been beat as of yet, but there’s always 2009.

Well, those are our favorite three and even if we can’t get seats (we can’t afford them), we sing, we laugh, eat, and all bet who will win, what will be the best time, and if we are holding the winning ticket. Check them all out next time—especially if you know the words to the traditional songs of each.
