At the moment I'm a baritone and can comfortably sing to an A at the bottom of the bass staff. However I want to be able to go lower without vocal frying and I want to be able to get some volume behind it. Could taking voice lessons do that for me? Thanks.
DEFINITELY. Over time, you will notice a gradual stretch of your original range. When I first started (I'm a soprano 1), I could barely sing a high G, and that was because my own mind wasn't letting me go up that high. Now I can practically sing the whole top half of the piano. It's amazing. I would definitely say take them, they help you in so many ways you didn't even think about.
