Tips, Tricks and Tools To Help You Sing!

Are online singing courses worth the money and time?

Take for instance the SLS seth riggs "singers advantage". Is that program worth it to beginner singers? Or is it a waste of money? If it is worth it, are the begginers looking at 10 years before they are able to have O.K voices?

This is my point of view,

The thing is, some one like Seth riggs, who is the founder of speech level singing, which is most sucsessfull and widely used technique today, does know what he is talking about.
You could go and see a teacher tomorrow…who doesn't, and there lies the problem. For me, I wouldn't consider any other online singing programme, because you just don't know what you are getting, but someone like Seth Riggs, clearly is a sucsessfull and world renouned coach. Just gaining the background knoledge and idea's on the voice from his programme is valuable information and would then arm you in finding a good singing teacher locally. The great thing about speech level singing is that it is easy to understand, they will give you the 'idiots guide' rather than just saying things like 'breathe from your diaphragm' and 'sing in your head voice' Like alot of regular teachers would, and the whole point is, if you don't know how…because you've never done it…it can be frustrating, and annoying, and equally can create problems!
I'm not saying people like Lynn (answered above) aren't good singing teachers (because I'm sure she is) what I'm saying is, there is no qualification needed to just set yourself up as a singing teacher, so you could end up with anyone, teaching you bad technique, or not quite understanding you or whatever.

Consider that you wouldn't normally get the chance to sing with such people as Seth, at least not for a load of cash, and that his idea's are founded, undertandable, proven and valuable and have helped alot of proffesional singers, also he's only certified a few people to teach his technique.

it wouldn't take 10 years to get an 'ok voice' in a couple of months, using correct methods, you would have noticable improvement. But if you want a voice like a finely tuned instrument, it will take a lifetime!

And read the articles on his site, from seth (I think, my be one of his other certified teachers, not sure) To get an idea of what you would expect from the programme.

best of luck!!!
